Truman Littler is excited for his second season with the Stambaugh Chorus as Assistant to the Director. Truman studies Vocal Music Education at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music. Under the baton of Dr. Hae-Jong Lee, he serves as a section leader in the advanced choral ensemble, Dana Chorale. Works performed with the Dana Chorale include J.S Bach’s Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit, BWV 106, D. Buxtehude’s Alles was ihr tut, BuXWV 4, John Rutter’s Requiem, John Tavener’s Svyati, David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus, among others. As a member of YSU Men’s Chorus, OneAchord, he performed at the 2019 Johnny Appleseed Spring Barbershop Convention in Columbus. Having performed widely as a barbershop singer, in 2017 he competed in the Youth Barbershop Quartet Competition with his quartet, Rebels of Rhythm in Las Vegas. Truman, a bass-baritone studies voice with Dr. Allan R. Mosher at the Dana School of Music and has appeared as Gorgibus in Thomas Pasatieri’s Signor Deluso. Under Dr. Lee, Truman was a Singing Scholar in the Warren Civic Chorus’ performance of Handel’s Messiah. He is a 2019 recipient of the Warren Music Club’s annual scholarship. His professional affiliations include the Dana Vocal Society, National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA), and the Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association (OCMEA). He currently serves as Vice-President of the YSU chapter of the Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association.
