Stambaugh Chorus will begin its new season on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at 6:30pm in the Ballroom at Stambaugh Auditorium with a pot luck dinner.

We welcome Bill Klein as assistant Directer.

The Chorus will continue to accept new members through the month of September.

The first performance will be an outreach at the Nonviolence Parade and Rally on Sunday, October 2, 2011 in downtown Youngstown. Our first project will be A Night at the Races Fund Raiser on Friday, October 14, 2011.  Call 330-533-1137 for more info.

Upcoming concerts include participation in the Stambaugh Chorus Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Boardman on November 19, 2011 as a fundraiser with entertainment. December events include performing for St. Patrick Church on the city’s South Side on December 4, 2011 in celebration of their 100th anniversary, a Holiday Concert in collaboration with the Dana School of Music presentation of Carols and Cocoa on December 7, 2011 at Stambaugh Auditorium featuring Karl Jenkins’ “Gloria” and other seasonal music, and a joint venture with Youngstown Area Community Concert Band on December 11, 2011 to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.

In January 2012 the chorus will resume rehearsal and again hold limited auditions for the next season. Programming includes a sing-along concert of Handel’s “Messiah” on March 18, 2012 featuring collaboration with area choirs at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Clearmount Drive as well as a multi-ethnic Spring Concert on May 20, 2012.
