Giving Voice to Peace 2016
On Friday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m., the Stambaugh Chorus under the direction of Dr. Hae-Jong Lee, will present GIVING VOICE TO PEACE II in beautiful Stambaugh Auditorium, Youngstown, OH. This concert will feature 250 voices from seven area choral groups along with the Stambaugh Festival Orchestra, performing Gabriel Faure’s Requiem. Each group will also present individual numbers related to the peace theme. The concert will also be the world premiere of “Angel of Peace” commissioned by Stambaugh Chorus and written by Jonny Priano, YSU graduate and music educator at the Wilmington Area School District.
Participating groups include the Ashtabula Choral Music Society, Kathleen Milford, Director, Austintown Fitch High School Concert Choir, Bill Klein, Director, Maestro Arts Youth Concert Choir, Brianne Samson, Director, Mahoning Valley Chorale, Kris Harper, Director, Wilmington Chamber Singers, Jonny Priano, Director, and Warren Civic Chorus Children’s Chorus, Nancy Moore, Director.
This concert is dedicated to the memory and service of the Chorus’ late President, Barbara Modic, MD. The Emcee for the evening will by Gary Sexton of radio WYSU.
