Seraphim

Seraphim, a community chorus, is an outgrowth of a memorial concert for Frances Kerpsack.  Jon Simsic, former director of the Youngstown Symphony Chorus, was asked to prepare and direct the music for the service which took place in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canfield, Ohio, on May 27, 2000.  The singers, about half of whom were members of the Symphony Chorus, urged Mr. Simsic to continue the group as a performing chorus, and the following fall Seraphim was established.

In 2005, Kris Harper was hired as Music Director.  In 2008, Kathryn D. Miller was hired as accompanist for rehearsals and performances.  Seraphim now has approximately 60 members from North East Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Seraphim presents several choral concerts throughout the year, featuring a variety of styles of music.  They sing for many private engagements in the area.  Seraphim always welcomes new members.
